I have purchased my nano lx in july 2011. At that time I thought that as I will grow in my career I will have a big car, but after driving Nano for a month I realised that I was wrong. Till date I have driven plenty of other cars like Ford Figo, Maruti 800, Maruti Alto, Maruti Wagon ...R, Swift Dzire, Hyundai i10, i20, Indigo, Indica and many such sedans and hatchback. But Still find Nano to be best in terms of cost effectiveness, luxury aspect and Indian road's perspective. I have purchased another one after an year in oct 2012 for my parents.
Mileage is 26 kmpl on ac (on highway) and 20 kmpl on ac in heavy traffic conditions.
It gives a good running at 85-90 kmph but as per Indian roads are concerned be safe and drive safe with 70 kmph.
Definitely value for money is this car. Go for it.

From a professional’s point of view, affordability is the most important point. I don’t want a car which gives me a burden of heavy loan, or longer repayment tenure. Also, the running cost is second important aspect.
If I can get the comfort of getting rid of hot summer, rid of cold winter waves,... rid of monsoon showers in rupees 2.2 lakh why should I go for even spending another 1 lakh. That’s too for a car whose fuel economy is apprx. half of this car.
I think intelligent people can understand that few things are really personal in life. For me that personal thing list include my vehicle too. Not just for a false pride I will spend my hard earned money.
Secondly, for those who are environment friendly this car brings the best mileage of around 26 Kmpl without AC and 23 Kmpl with AC on.
Speed of 90-95 Kmph seems to be best as if your own safety is prime concern. Neither Indian roads support more than that.
Overall value for money is Tata Nano.

410 kms in 5hrs means 82 kmph, but I drove at 90 kmph. Thats the situation to be explained and understood. :)

Thank you all for the appreciation.
Today I have updated the practical output of nano from 80-85 KMPH to 90-95 KMPH as I drove my Wonder Car for 410 Kms in just 5 hrs. I don't know where the calculation have a mistake but speedometer was at 90-95 KMPH.
Possible causes for compensating the si...tuation are refuelling, toll booth queue, big trucks (trolla) generally move in three parallel lanes creating bottleneck etc.Read More
