Payment banks and microfinance banks: these are microfinance banks newly modeled by the RBI concept. There are 11 payment banks and 10 microfinance banks in India. These are new-age banks aimed at strengthening APY's existing distribution channel and promoting the advocacy work of APY subscribers.
