Snapdeal started out as a deals site where sellers would offer attractive discount coupons for their products or services. Buyers had the chance to get greatly discounted services while a seller would get a lot of publicity for his business. Recently however, Snapdeal appears to have gone for a complete business makeover. They have done away with the deals completely and transformed into an online marketplace just like ebay or flipkart. This leaves Timesdeal and Groupon as the only big players in this segment. It is hard to gauge why a rather thriving business model has been suddenly discarded
