well it was way back in the year 2004,a young guy was appointed in our office as an office boy.He was very hard working , well mannerd and had a good physique,however he spoke with punjabi accent.
It was me who questioned him about his physique and his punjabi accent,to which he replied that he had stayed with his uncle in punjab and that he was a good player of cricket.It was after this incident he tried to be too sweet to me,set me thinking........
One fine day this guy did not report to the office,it was very unusual as he was very sincere in reporting,everyone tried to call his mobile but ther seemed to be no response.
However the very next day,the local newspapers were splashed with this guys photographs and write up describing him as a pakistani national who entered the indian territory with the intention of carrying out anti national activities.
Every one in the office was terrified and was afraid to show that they knew him in in way whatsoever.My boss who had appointed him disappeared from the office on the pretext of an appointment.This guy was brought to our office for identification,when I looked at his face it had a strange smile as if he was proud of what he had done for his motherland.
I was the only witness to come to the court and identify him in front of the magistrate.
Although this guy will spend the rest of his life in the jail,or mayone he might get back home in case there is exchange of prisoners takes place between the two countries.
Now there are lessons to be learnt from this true story, each and every citizen of our country has to come forward and report any suspicious activity,person,movement in and around us,We cannot expect the police as well the army to take care of every thing around us,that is not possible given the sheer sizeof our population.THIS IS A WAKE UP CALL FOR ALL OUR COUNTRYMEN OR THER COULD BE ANOTHER 26/11.THE CHOICE IS OURS PLEASE SHOW SOME COURAGE,CONFRONT A SITUATION AND YOU WILL WIN!
