Story:

This is absolutely the most inspiring book I have read in my life.

The book is the story of a boy from a not-so-well-to-do economic background who grows on to be a great Person. When you read this book, you will understand why he is such a great visionary, leader and above all philosopher.

I would like to write up a few reason why one should read this book.

  1. It is small.

I know it might sound stupid, but truely, I have often been pained reading books which beat around the bush and take a long to actually come to the point. You can see that the book has been written to be concise and to the point.

  1. It is not about Abdul Kalam.

It is about essences of his experiences. Part of the reason this book is unput downable is its total lack of self involvement . I believe that at some level, most auto-biographies tend to be self involved. This book for a refreshing change is not. It is all about clearly explaining a journey concisely and as he puts it 'in a bird's eye view'

  1. It is about passion and leadership.

This book is not as much of a story of scientist as it is of a Leader and a Manager. As he mentions in the book, he was awarded a Doctor of Science degree on the stage as Nelson Mandela. I guess for about the same reason. Both were passionate leaders.

This book ought be read by every single indian. And yes I am absolutely proud of the President of my Country! I was proud we had a great scientist as president before I read the book. Now, I realise that we have a president who is an even greater philosopher, leader, visionary and humanitarian.
