Even when all the USB connections are tight and perfect, this External Hard Drive can keep restarting automatically on Windows 10 machines, by closing the File Explorer window, or halting any copy or paste process through it. At first I thought the product to be faulty, but eventually found a fix in Driver Settings. If you are having the same issue, you can do the same :
> Open Device Manager
> Go-to Universal Serial Bus Controllers
> Open USB Root Hub and open Power Management Tab
> Uncheck the option Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
> Click OK
> Do the same with USB Root Hub ( xHCI) and Generic USB Hub under the same Universal Serial Bus Controllers
> Restart the computer
- Now the Transcend StoreJet would work just perfect
