..I was surprised by the inferior suspension and gear shift mechanism!!! I didn't pay a cost almost equal to a honda civic to get this...!!! The spead-breakers were real jerkers and head-breakers, it almost reminded me of tata indica!!
Having driven the Chevrolet Optra for long, driving a corolla was a shocker (literally!) optra can easily boast having the best suspension in and around its segment. Over a period of 7 months, the corolla's suspension has become surprisingly better (or maybe I got used to it), and spead-breakers and pot-holes are now not the kind of a pain as they used to be.
The gear shift is stubbornly hard, my wife's 6 year old Fiat Siena still has a smoother gear shift than the corolla 1.8J. I wont talk about the fuel efficiency since at the time of purchase I knew what I'm getting into, no more than 10kmpl. ok ok there sure are good points too, the pickup and the zip-drive steering, i love the ease with which I can maneuver such a big car on indian roads
