TRAIal and ERROR. Review on Telecom Regulatory Auth. Of India - TRAI

TRAI, the Telecom Regularity Authority, since its inception has been embroiled in some dispute or other. Sometimes it appears that it is because of the high-handedness of the people within the Authority. Somehow the authority has given an impression that it has been constituted only to protect the private players in the telecom field and stopping the larger one’s like MTNL and VSNL from taking the competitors head-on. This kind of attitude, in my opinion, is not good for the customers at large. Because they are the one’s who cannot take advantage of low tariffs. I understand, their could some compulsion on the part of the govt. and the regularity authority to keep the private players in the playing arena, coz they may be wiped out by the likes of MTNL and VSNL on account of the vast infrastructure and years of experience. But weigh more in modern days is the customer care, at which the biggies (MTNL and VSNL) were pathetic till some time back (well, they’ve started learning the techniques now !!).
