*TRAI **is apex body in telecom. Today everybody can buy telecom products. Monopoly is gone.
But there is one herculean task before TRAI, punishing guilty. If private operators can be punished, so is the law for state run units too. BSNL is no big brother.
On MS, nobody has written review on TRAI from 2005. TRAI is hot sub in newspapers and order passed by TRAI against corruption in BSNL Nagpur is equally hot in my blood. Please check out this TRAI order.
