I’m writing this review after much thought, as a parent who had sent my child to this school/daycare for a short period. I still have mixed feelings and am unsure if I would ever consider it again. There were several concerns during our experience that I feel other parents should be aware of.
From the very first day, I had a disturbing experience. When I went to pick up my child in the evening, she was sitting on a chair, facing the wall, looking lost. It broke my heart. I immediately went to hug her, and when I lifted her, I realized she was soaked in urine. The staff hadn’t even noticed. I had given clear instructions that morning regarding her needs, but they were not followed.
Over time, I noticed other worrying patterns. Young children were being sent to the toilet unsupervised. Basic hygiene practices like handwashing were not ensured. I witnessed an aaya (caretaker) say it was fine not to wash hands after using the toilet because the potty was “clean.” I couldn’t believe this was being taught — these are the most basic habits that should be instilled early on.
There were also instances when my child soiled herself and it wasn’t cleaned properly. She began falling sick more frequently. On one occasion, I arrived to find her soaking wet because someone had spilled water on her, and she was shivering with a high fever. Despite having a change of clothes in her bag, the staff hadn’t bothered to change her.
Another serious concern was the mosquito situation. Every evening, she would come home complaining about mosquito bites, and we could visibly see the swellings on her skin. It was heartbreaking. Proper care and environment are the minimum we expect — and when we trust them with our children while managing full-time jobs, it's devastating to see this kind of negligence.
At this stage of learning and growth, care, hygiene, and warmth are essential. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and improves the level of care and supervision provided. No parent wants to see their child neglected, especially in a place meant to nurture them.
