ORANGE GPRS SERVICE SUCKS in Bombay India. Review on Orange Mobile Operator

I want to share my horrible experience with orange.

A GREAT LIE

I used BPL MOBILE GPRS SERVICE (GOOD)

service for around one year and then I saw the advertisement for orange gprs

being available on its prepaid cards for only Rs.500/- per month. WELL THIS

IS LIE. They will charge you Rs.500/- every time you refill the voucher.

Example, say if you bought your card on 2nd Jan 2004 and then refilled it on

same day with Rs.800/- (around 600 or whatever talk time you get) they will

deduct Rs.500/- for GPRS and then if your talk time expired on 14 JAN 2004

YOUR ORANGE GPRS WILL STOP WORKING. Hey, BUT you paid for 30 days on JAN 2

2004 then it should work till Feb 2 2004 !? Isn't it ?! No but it doesn't

work like that, Now you again need to recharge your voucher and pay Rs.500/-

again. Example, if you recharged your voucher on 15 JAN 2004. You need to

pay Rs.500/- AGAIN. The same thing happened to me and when I called orange

customer care again and again asking for explanation on where my Rs.3000/-

talk time is gone in just 2 MONTHS !!!! I never use to call from this phone

and I use this number exclusively for GPRS access !!!!

HORRIBLE SUPPORT

Every time I call ORANGE customer care (around 12 to 20 minutes hold time on

every call :'( they told me to email assist@orange.co.in) but THEY NEVER

REPLY. Even after repetitive emails and threatening them for actions they

never reply. It appears they just don't give damn about their customers and

orange is here to cheat you. I give up because I have already burned my

enough time in this whole process.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

Ok, enough crying about my horrible experience with orange. LETS talk

technical stuff. You must be wondering how good is GPRS speed !!. Let me

tell you it also sucks. Normally Speed never goes more then 8kbps

(1kb/second) (BPL GIVES YOU around 20kbps speed normally) and often there

are mysterious disconnection in service (tower single lost or something)

PING TIMINGS (latency) is very high 1000ms (BPL ALSO HAVE SAME LATENCY) and

you can barely use it for average web browsing. Over all its useless unless

you don't have any other choice. I used it for keeping my messengers online

while away from computer because of unavailability of broad band connection

in my area.

WAP GPRS IS DIFFERENT AND THERE IS RS.100/- per month extra charge for it.

So don't get fooled you will NOT get WAP GPRS access with this service which

helps you to download cool ringtones and graphics from internet.

CONCLUSION

=======

DO NOT BUY ORANGE GPRS SERVICE because its not RS.500/- per month. Rs.500/-

will be deducted every time when you recharge and trust me NOBODY will HELP

YOU in case you need to know where your airtime money is lost !!!!!

Bye Bye Orange. I will ovoid ORANGE like plague and will share my horrible
