The way Net4india and Net4domains(net4.in) is going it
seems they are going to close down and run with our money.
From the time they became an accredited ICANN registrar their service has
gone from very bad to arrogant and worse(if anyone knows a better word please
tell me). Customer service response is extremely poor. Their new web site and
customer service backend is still under construction. One day there is an
option to re open ticket next day it disappears. When there is a major issue,
you can wait for days to get your site up and running. When international
domain registrars give a 2 hr response time, Net4 says 24 hr response time
which can actually start from 72 hrs to weeks.
Domains disappear from the control panel and it requires
quite a lot of effort to get it back. Expired domains don’t follow any ICANN
specified guidelines. Let’s not talk about mails and downtime!
I have started shifting all .com. .net, .org's to godaddy and aitdomains. And
.in's to rediff. If anyone a good Indian registrar please share the information.
Pros: All said and done, the good part is the ease of payment. If you want to make only Rupee payment. Credit Card, cheque, local cheque payment at local branches. All the options are there. They are really good in taking money.
