April end...and feeling the cold breez of Nov. yes, that's the way Matheran is, hill station with amazing rain forest. Such dense & evergreen forest takes you completely away from the traffic, pollution and hectic life of metros.
Best as a weekend get away , but beware once you are there..you want weekend to strech over an entire week. The best part of my stay at Matheran was my hotel..I must say one's visit to Mathran is incompelte without staying at Byke , the Hotel & Retreat... beautiful construction....reminds one of old british colonial days, if you stay at Byke don't forget to visit ''Bunglow'' bulit by britishers almost 70-80 yrs. old just to have a feel of the luxury with which they lived. Colonial british comfort with all modern amenities...is what you look forward to.
Byke has so many attractions...besides this buglow you can see ''Sita Ashoka'' the rare Ashoka tree providing dense shade. Any holiday is incomplete without metioning food and I bet the finger luscious food at Byke , which you may not find at Mumbai,Pune.
