Gone with the wind is another classic very widely read by people by Margret Mitchell. Out of curiosity I grabbed a copy and started with the tome. At first I thought of Scarlett as a character was way too unsophisticated and mean.
Reading on further all I read about was war, people dying, houses burning . all this while scarlet tries to win Ashley, her old love back, who is married to melenie a woman who loves scarlet for everything she is not. Its a very depressing novel with nothing but misery written all over it. Worst thing of all was that the novel ends very abruptly without reaching a tragic or a happy ending .
