Please make sure before you make a purchase, what are your exact expectations from a laptop. You might be a very frequently travelling guy who want to carry very less or you may be a person who wants a mini entertainment system with you alwaize.


If you are looking at the lightest part of it please take a note of the following.

  1. A powerful processor sufficient enough to process your mailing applications and documentation work.

  2. Plenty of Memory

  3. 20 to 40GB Harddrive

  4. 13+ inches display

  5. Sharp Active Matrix display

  6. a CD Rom Drive (fixed preferably a multi bay option so that you can plugin a hardrive in lieu of the CD)

  7. On board Ethernet and Modem

  8. The weight : lesser the better

  9. Floppy drive : Preferably external

  10. Docking preferred

  11. Speakers: Added advantage

  12. Smart card and PCMCIA

  13. Trackpoint and touchpad.....preferably

  14. USB

In case if you are looking a mighty machine look for the following

  1. The fastest CPU available in the market

  2. Plenty and Plenty of Ram

  3. Lots of Harddrive

  4. Geforce of Better Display with a minimum of 32MB +

  5. The best soundsystem with the verybest speakers like Harmon Kardon or JbL

  6. 15'' Display is a must(look at the 17'' offering from Apple)

  7. In built DVD+FDD+CDRW Combo

  8. Ethernet

  9. Modem

  10. USB + Firewire

  11. PCMCIA

and dont worry about the weight
