IPod Nano (2GB). Review on Apple iPod

IPod--- the name has become a synonym for mp3 players.Apple has set the benchmark for mp3 players.iPod nano is the smaller version of the regular ipod.Small only in size but with the same features.If looks could kill,then iPod Nano would be the biggest mass murderer in history (yes even Hitler would be surpassed :)) )

As thick(or as thin) as a pencil and weighing a mere few grams,it looks better than our present Miss India !!! It comes in two colours...the regular off white/silver (?) and my personal favourite...the black (beauty).

The layout of the click wheel and all others is the same as on the regular iPods.However the nano allows you to store images (regular jpegs of you and your girlfriend(s) ).Sound quality is Apple standard by which I mean exceptional.A review on CNN rates the sound quality higher than that of the now famous Bose speakers.

The 2GB nano (which I bought) stores upto 500 songs (assuming each song is of 4 minutes duration.Has some additional features like a clock,a stop watch,allows you to play your selected songs in a random order (called shuffle in Apple talk ),some games (3 if I am not wrong),ability to store text files from any PC and a few for which I do not care.My criteria for selecting a mp3 player were the following:

1) Sound quality

2)Storage capacity

3)Weight and size

4)Price

5)Looks

6)Coolness quotient !!!!

And on all these counts except 4,Apple beat all the others that I short listed hands down.But you have got to pay the price if you desire something as cool as an iPod.Also once you purchase an iPod you are assured of a 1 year world wide warranty.

Guys if you have patience you can wait for the latest iPod video (not the present one) with a virtual click wheel,a larger screen and reduced wight.Analyst say this will be due in another 3 months.

The cost though is not low..... approx 13k in Bangalore(including the famous VAT).

However if you have got friends abroad ask them to get it for you(will cost you at the max two-thirds of the cost in India).

So guys if you can afford it (yaar reduce your booze intake for a couple of months and save) go for it .In my opinion it is the coolest gadget to have now.
