Shaastu Vastra. Review on Vaastu Shastra

…show them Vaastu shastra . There are enough of them in this movie … say it … ZOMBIES . take a blender labelled Varma corp and throw in a bit of the shining , dawn of the dead , a creaking sound effects machine , Haley Joel Osment (yahaan aur bhi log rahte hain !!) aka Rohan and finally a malnourished tree that looks like the witches gloved hand , soap and powder and lipstick and a ball and a rajpal yadav with jumped up electrodes in his backside….and you’ve got a faulty live wire .The stars are , the tree , the ball, the boy , the sound effects machine and the powder . Undoubtedly there are some good scenes.

23 km into pune past a weird tree Jhilmil (sen) and Viraag (chakravarthy)and family move into a new house ,(WWWWWWWWWHHHHHHYYYYYYYYY in the middle of nowhere ?) .She is happy that the Vaastu is right.(And haven’t these people ever heard of house warming).The initial mentions of manish and jyoti by rohan is rendered as creative and imaginative (how dumb can parents get , Sen aren’t you a mom?).The eerie vibes begin to take shape in the first forty five minutes of the movie (BIG MISTAKE). talcum powders run high here or is it the aatta from Ramu’s granny’s village .there are some good moments like when jhil mil sees the apparition for the first time , radha’s dream ,when rads gets murdered along with her boyfriend (which is a commendable scene in this creaky horror), they still continue to stay in the house!!!!!!!!!???. The family of the house faces a family ghost; the rest of the movie would be how they exchange pleasantries to each other?. Then it all comes crashing down one rain soaked night : the narrative .

Sushmita sen does a kind job playing mommy (well!!)actually she does a good job more on the publicity posters than in the movie , Chakravarthy (the Satya guy)is good , infact he does full justice to the role of the dumb father(GET THAT BEARD BACK MAN) . Rajpal as the hyper terrified warning dirty dwarf is scarier than his warning itself (DON’T BRUSH YOUR TEETH AND U’LL SCARE ANYONE) , maybe he should calm down , down boy. Ultimately it’s the kid who manages to carry the movie through us ,(very cute and scary).

Saurabh usha narang should watch exorcist, omen (1234), blair witch project etc. First it gets predictable, we know that there will be a murder that will introduce “the phenomena”, then a family will move dumbly in nearby it, there should be a kid, he’ll see things (how?), then one by one would get bumped off .If someone would’ve gone easy on the sound effects machine .He does a pretty job of managing spaces and silences, till later it starts to overlap. This factory product kills you and the producers have mentioned that they will not take any responsibility as a result of watching this movie. A license of vindication .

My uncle was sitting bored just drinking there , I should’ve left him there if I couldn’t join him instead . I wanted to get freaked out on this flick it seems .

this shaastra doesn’t work the luck .

Watch it for sheer brand loyalty.

P.S Watch Raat an old film by Ramu early 90s . Was a good horror flick then .
