Long Lasting. Review on Fanaa Songs

Chand Sifarish was the first song to hit the music channels when the album was released. Nice catchy tune and lovely https://lyrics. Who is the singer, I wondered and researched a bit(googled) and found it was Shaan.  I liked the way he said'hona hai tujhme fanaa', with a lil lispy accent on the'f'.  There is an innocent playfulness in the song - Hain jo irade bata doon tumko sharma hi jaogi tum. dhadkane jo suno doon tumko ghabra hi jaogi tum.  I listened to it quite a lot initially along with the other number'Mere Haath mein'.

Later I was charmed by the song'Ye Saajish hai boondon ki' which was being played repeatedly on the fm station.  My search led me back to Fanaa and I realised that I had missed hearing the gem in the album(blame the mp3 that lets you select a playlist).  The song again has a playful sensuality to it.  If you listen closely the lyrics are very good, the kind you would expect from a lyricist of the calibre of Gulzar.'Sawan ye seedha nahi khufiya bada' - just what gulzar mian would have said.  Instead of saying'Wanna suck face' our hero says'Hoton ki arzi aise thukrao na.' Great!  I have added Parsoon Joshi to my trusted circle(lol)  I will reproduce the lyrics of this song at the end of the review.  But a word for the music and singers first.

Sonu Nigam has turned out some lovely numbers and I do like him a lot. Sunidhi Chauhan can sound screechy sometimes but here she is sweetness itself. Jatin Lalit has used Kashmiri sounds very effectively.
