Tata service is pathetic....just like nano, promising the sky and speeds of ferrari but in effect, no better than an auto with the meter rigged for speedy money laundering

I couldnt agree stupid photon+ gives me an average speed of 13kbps. Talk of broadband speed. These suckers are just after our money.

Mathurji, as usual a review par excellence for a favourite movie of mine. Wonder why they cant make stuff like this nowadays. I have seen the movie a number of times and have liked every moment of it. The music especially 'Jab Chali....' has been a childhood favourite and its signature tune would al...ways give me the goosebumps. This movie shows what true love is all about and crushes and infatuations so in vogue now, are really ethereal and it is true love which is forever. A must watch for every movie buff who treasures lilting music, a good storyline and melodrama. Keep up the good work!Read More

I couldnt agree more. I too am a photon user for the last six months and I have NEVER seen speeds more than 80 kbps so you may as well forget the mbps speeds as pure bull on the part of tata.....dont expect a nano to perform like ferrari. It just wont happen but you will end up paying for a ride on ...the lamborghini instead. Customers here are always suckers and no amount of complaining will move the stoic jackasses that are supposed to cater to us.Read More

Lovely review as usual Mathurji. I must have watched this movie at least a dozen times. Lilting music, nice story and picturisation and in addition to all that you mentioned already, I really liked the comedy of Hanuman. Hopefully, when possible, I will have some of Bhabiji's culinary skills to tast...e too....till then, will do with your sweet reviews. Keep going.Read More

Dear Hermit I have also been a reader of this book in school when I used to be a back bencher and read novels like this when the monotonous drone of our geography or social sciences teacher would drive us to somnolence. It was such a joy to read and I would have a hard time stifling my guffaws lest teacher would show me the door! Nice review, keep penning.Read More

It is one of the most beautiful movies when you take into account the music, picturisation, location and Sadhana put together. I have seen this movie as a kid and then again many times. I would always feel the hair rise on my neck when the signature tune of 'bedardi balma' would play ( and it still ...does). Sadhana was sooo beautiful; God knows why we dont have actresses like her now. Her romantic chemistry with Rajendra kumar would turn me green with jealousy;-) and Mehmood's antics would make me double up with mirth. The scene where the two shikaras move away on the Dal lake at sunset is one of the most beautiful picturisations of the most beautiful lake in the world. It isnt right that today's generation would not associate with such a movie; a well made movie with the right story, cast and music will do well in any epoch and you dont need 1000 dancers doing gyrations to plagiarised music to make a hit movie. Incidentally, Shankar Jaikishan were paid 5 lakh for the music of this movie which was a record in 1965. I would say they did justice to every penny. I would also pay the same amount to go back in time to the same period and see Sadhana for myself( and maybe push RK off the horse and get on myself). thanks mathur bhai for taking us down memory lane.Read More

I agree with you about the customer care. I got my photon bundled with my Acer laptop with the corollary that the first month bill for 2 GB postpaid plan will be free but the same could never be verified by the customer care despite a dozen visits and more than a dozen calls and now at the end of th...e billing period, I am being given a bill which should be free in the first place. I guess that Tatatel hasnt heard of something called CONSUMER COURT. Well, they will soon enough.Read More

I too had purchased a Prestige induction cooker but it was not upto the mark and the time taken by the cooker was similar to LPG and not less as claimed by the dealer. It was just a glorified heater and nothing else.

I couldnt agree more. I was DENIED a card for no rhyme or reason. Umpteen visits and phonecalls could not resolve the issue and despite having a Max account, the service was disgusting. I finally closed my account with HDFC as that was the only way to get back at them.

Talat Mehmood was the epitome of everything that was symbolic of the golden era of Hindi film music, albeit the verses were in Urdu. His lilting voice had a haunting melody to it that would resonate ( and still does) in the mind long after having heard the song. It is a pity that we lost all that wa...s right and harmonius and grabbed all that is din and noise in name of music. Talat had the quiver in his notes that would gently touch the soul of the listener rather than today’s music which is more like shock therapy for psychiatric patients. All the songs mentioned in the previous comments are creme de la creme of fifties music and I would also recommend ’’Bechain nazar betab jigar ye dil hai kisika deewana’’. May his soul rest in peace and his songs in our hearts.Read More

I couldnt agree more for I am the proud owner of a 1989 model RX100 myself and the bike has been with me ever since. The best bike to have ever graced Indian roads....I have never come across anything else here that gave a complete package, performance, looks and overall macho feel.

My experience has also been nothing less than disgusting. It took me a dozen visits and six applications for my internet banking account which they could not do otherwise; I never ever received any statements and only when I gave them a dressing down did they manage to send me emails about that. To it off, despite having a max account and a good balance, I was refused a credit card( can you believe that???) without assigning any reasons. I am closing my account with this good for nothing bank and advise others too to look for better options. Hell, even SBI gives much better service than those nincompoops.Read More

I had to write about this one. One of my all time favourites. I dont think one can find any faults with this movie. At least I couldnt and I have seen it many times. What a story and what magnificient acting! And the music was out of this world. You need to have a heart of a lover to really delve this one. The signature tune is an evergreen hit and so are the songs. The creme de la creme is the last scene when Lalita Pawar calls out the number of the cell which has seen Dharmendra and Rajesh Khanna and out steps Waheeda Rehman. What a climax!Read More

I fully agree with you. Sherlock has to be the greatest detective ever fictionalised. I have also read every novel and story that Doyle wrote and I also saw most of the episodes of Sherlock Holmes on TV. Even this year, they were being telecast on History Channel and it was pure nostalgia for me. Je...remy Brett as Sherlock was fabulous, totally moulded into the character. I wish the contemporary Indian actors on the big screen and the small one would see him act and try to emulate his intensity and not act like they are on Cartoon Channel.Read More
