Although I visited the place on invitation and with no intention to write a review, I was surprised by the complete range of food on display at Thai Pavilion. Vegetarians have fewer choice, however, whatever is available is delicious to say the least.
There is a lot of similarity between the spices used in India and also in Thailand, however one difference I noticed and is quiet a speciality in Thailand is the usage of Basil leaves (tulsi leaves) in Soups, Fried Rice and and also in their noodle preparations veg as well as non Veg. In India we know Tulsi for its medicinal properties and also have divine features associated with it, hence its usage with non veg is a taboo in many communities and others who might be using it I don't know them. For me the aroma was tantalising, though, the friend who invited me has travelled to Thailand on many occassions and according to him usage of basil leaves is not as good as it is in Thailand.
The wooden architecture with intricate carvings creates a Thai ambience, though it would have helped if the place would have been little bigger. Kids though can visit but will have to be kept on tight leash and and also it is not suitable for business delegations as it came across to be too small.
On the whole it is one place to enjoy Thai food which is completely different from a generally held notion of its similarity with Chinese food. Both are miles apart not only geographically but also in taste and presentation. Those enjoying Chinese should try Thai for a change they will love it.
Spice and oil is very economically used, hence there is no problem if you go with an aim to binge!!
