Out of Africa
A few animals left
The grasslands of Africa
In search of better life
Perhaps.
They walked erect
And had opposable thumbs
Most importantly
They had the capacity to innovate
Gradually these creatures
Spread to all corners of earth
They lived in caves
Painted wondeful pictures
They found edible grass
That made impregnable houses
From the earth they mined metal
Fire was made a slave
The wheel was fashioned for speed.
Today we humans live all over earth
We make magnificent machines
That do almost everything
We speak many languages
Which can be recorded in written form
We live with families in massive dwellings
And work from nine to five
What a journey it has been
From weaklings in grasslands
To awestruck cave-dwellers
To conquerors of the world
Our brain is capable and wonderful
With its help we overcome everything
I dont know about others
But I am immensely thankful for everything
