India is full of intersting and beautiful places for holidaying. Whenever we decide about taking a break from work and plan a out of town trip(assuming, you are based in North India), places like Agra, Jaipur, Nainital, Shimla, Mussorrie comes automatically to your mind as the default destinations to go spend your holiday. Why? Because these places are so common that one keeo hearing about these places due to one reason or the other. But how many of us have really thought of or tried visting places which are not so commonaly known or may be, close to unknown for majority of people. Do places like Lensdowne, Cherapunji, Daman & Diu and Wayanad triggers the same doze of interest as the place listed above-Shimla, Nainital etc.? May be yes, May be no. But not many people realialize the great potential of these 'not so famous' places untill they actually pay a visit. Ofcourse, visiting these places have their own advantages which one -keeping in mind all the prevailing factors in our country- can not just ignore. It would really be worth of your time and money visitng these little towns. Following are some of the good reasons why you should plan a trip to these 'not so famous' places (or so called secret destinations) -

(1) Economical

Since these little towns are not so famous on tourist maps, there are not many tourist visting these places. Hence, not only that one can get an excellent lodging and boarding options at very low prices but one can even get very cheaper transportation (which you may require to visit the nearby places).

(2) Ease of Availability

How many times have we changed our plan of visting a particular place or may even would have cancelled due to either non-availability of transportaion or accomodation? Keeping in mind our country's large population, am sure this is very commonaly observed. But, these hurdles just don't exist or very minimal when you decide visitng these small places. One can easily book transportation and hotels even at short notice when going to these places. There is hardly any risk even if you are visitng there without any advance Hotel booking.

(3) Free of Pollution

Heavily crowed tourist destinations like Agra, Jaiur, Shimla etc are all now heavily polluted - be it air or noise (ofcourse, due to heavy crowd visting them every now and then). But one gets a big relief visitng small places because they are still totally free of air and noise pollution and you really find it a very pleasant change from your more than busy and polluted city life.

(4) More Greens and scenic beauty

Again these small places still have large Green areas and pleasing scenic beauty to calm and rejuvenate you. Guaranteed, this would be far far more relaxing than visiting a Spa in your city.

So next time when you decide about going on a holiday trip, do give these places a thought.
