Most of you might wonder what the use of a PDF file is. We can create MS doc files, put our content inside and edit it so what's the use of a PDF file format.

Let’s take an example,

You have created a MS Word file. But what special thing you have done is you have used some fonts which are not available on any machine suppose say Tamil language font. So that word file will work well on your computer. Because it’s referring to the fonts of your machine.

But now you gave that file to your friend. What will happen??

He will come up and say buddy this file is showing some stupid content. You will suddenly realize yeah I have used a font which on my machine. So another task to you is pass on the font file to your friend.

PDF file overcomes this flaw. It’s called Portable Document Format. Name itself indicates its portable so it means when you create a PDF file with any damm font in this world, it will embed the font file inside the document itself. So any time you pass on the document to anywhere in the world it will open without any hassle.

Also PDF file created on MS Windows will open on other operating systems like Linux, UNIX and Mac. So an added advantage.

Its propitiatory format by Adobe Systems but its usage is Royalty Free.

There are many other things but these are most important features.
