Where is Murli Kartik?

So the Indian cricket team is heading for Sri Lanka to play 5 ODIs and 1 game of T-20.

The squad announced for the series is on the expected lines, except that Harbhajan Singh misses out on account of injury. Ravinder Jadeja, the consistent all-rounder from Saurashtra, has been passed off as his replacement, although I think Jadeja has selected himself and it is in fact the 'tourist' Pragyan Ojha who retains his place due to Bhajji's injury.

I wonder why Murli Kartik, arguably best finger spinner in the country, has been kept out of this squad. He was happy doing commentary on NEO sports when he was drafted into the side against Aussies a couple of years back, and he played a significant role in both the Indian wins in that series. Thereafter, he has been ignored by the wise men.

The glaring part is, as against the spin duo of Muralidharan and Mendis, India's modest challenge comprises three greenhorns in Ojha, Jadeja and Yusuf Pathan, with some support from Sehwag and Yuvraj. Thus, even a Tillakratna Dilshan & Jaisuiya look more menacing than the Indian spin challenge.

In this scenario, an experienced spinner like Kartik would have come in handy. What do you say?
