After some days, Carla and Jim attended the funeral rites of her Aunt. In the necrological service, she told her cousin that her marriage with Jim is already in trouble. Her cousin can’t believe it, but she needs to tell her the truth so she will not wonder why they are no longer sweet. They both started to cry not because they were sad for the death of her Aunt because they knew she was already in a safe resting place. They both cried because 30 years is no joke for couples to be happily together and think of separation.
While Carla is still struggling from pain; the thought of separation made her died many times while looking at her Aunt lying in state. She confessed to her cousin that, she would rather die and be buried, than die in vain and in pain where there's no necrological service for that kind of death. "How can I think of separation when I didn't even think or dream of that to happen to us? I never knew twas this painful when you yourself is the victim of abandonment and betrayal." Between sobs and confession, she was gasping for breath, trying to control herself from crying out loud. And as the relatives and friends pay their last respect to her Aunt's burial, she was silently asking her Aunt to bring away all the troubles she is carrying that moment.
Twas September when her Aunt died and December was fast approaching. She thought that maybe Christmas will be better celebrated with her siblings in the province since she never had a vacation for a long time. So she planned for a vacation to tell her siblings that everything is not okay with her marriage life anymore. She thought it might help if she let the burden out on her family so she will not need to pretend that she is alright.
Her family were sad to know whats going on with her life. But they assured her that whatever her decisions, she can expect a full support from them. This made Carla glad and find a little peace of mind. The next day she went to a spiritual lady she respected most and asked her opinion regarding her plan of separation. After much talk of the advantages and disadvantages, she came into a conclusion. But she still need to ask for a legal advice so that she had both spiritual and legal basis to make a final decision with her life.
After few weeks her vacation was over, and she needs to go back home. While on board the ship, she felt the emptiness being alone in her suite room. She tried to get out of her room to look whats going on around. She started to go up to the last deck of the ship. On the very top, she could see the beautiful stratus and cumulus white clouds, the green forest trees, a perfectly curve rainbow over head the well- trimmed greenish huge mountain, made the view more fascinating. While the common Tern birds were flying high in groups, and doing some exhibitions. And, once in awhile it tries to grab the flying fish when it splashes on top of the water. The dolphin's swimming competitions were also an added attractions to the wonderful view of God's Creation. Carla can't help not to be amazed of the beautiful site.
The orangeand purplish combination of the sun as it begun to set before the dusk takes over, gives an inviting color of the deep ocean. The reflections of the colors above the sea water, looks like a tiny bits of diamondsthat sparkles in the middle of the ocean. She became teary eyed when she thinks of her plan to commit suicide some weeks ago. And now if she will jump, she will surely get lost under the sea/ocean, because she doesn't know how to swim. But this time she will not do it anymore. She realized how great life is with people around who still cares and love her despite what happened to her. And as the evening falls and the thick clouds covered the beautiful scenery, Carla started to be quiet and sentimental. She cant help to easily forget what really happened to her life. She came to realized that, life is still beautiful and amazing despite all the adversities that she had encountered.
As Carla was in deep meditation, unknown to her there were two- eyed creature looking at her. Observing what she might do, being alone on top of the deck. She looks worried even in a far distance when she was disturb by the sound of the steps of the creature that came closer to her. Then that human creature was trying to be so subtle as much as possible in asking her. " You seems to be alone here? Are you okay? Do you know know that this place is dangerous to be alone?" He keep asking one questions after the other. But Carla seems deaf and mute that she didnt mind what the guy is asking.
