The entire nation is still in the state of shock after the audacious terror attack on land mark Taj Hotel CST Rly Station at the economic capital of the nation, Mumbai. The country is gradually coming back to normalcy with school ,college, market etc are operating normally . Train, Bus and Air service have become normal . All citizens have stood up against against this outrageous attack irrespective of their caste and creed and all unanimous in condemning this cowardly act. It appears that administration have learnt lessons from mistakes and from the valuable life lost. Preemptive measures are being taken all over the country to prevent repetition of such attacks. International community is also exerting pressure on Pakistan in tandem with India which will force Pakistan to act on the perpetrators. By the grace of God , we can hope things will improve definitely in future and we hope that we will see lesser number of this type of ghastly act with the passage of time. We are so hopeful because problem is known and remedy is also known for this problem and only execution is part is to be taken care of.
Another big problem is larking within our nation which is rather more horrific and capable of causing more damage to our nation is the terror within. I am talking about growing problem of naxalites. Almost all political parties are trying to project this problem as law and order problem and they think only a few disgruntled people are involve init who can be tackled by brutal police force. Here I want to differ. I consider this naxalite problem as a socio economic problem. It is a protest against neglect and deprivation of a long time. Many people will have different opinion on this issue but it is a fact that there are neglect and deprivation done on a huge mass of people causing them to feel alienated. Let us see the regions where naxalism has already taken roots. Starting from north, first is Bihar, then Jharkhand, West Bengal, next is Orissa, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and part of Maharastra bordering Chattisgarh. In all these areas where naxalism spreads , have one thing in common. All these areas are utterly backward , education, health and social welfare services are almost absent. People are basically very poor and leave below the property level. Communication and road connectivity is rare. I can not comment on allthese areas as I have not seen them all. However during my service posting in Koraput district of Orissa, I had a first hand experience of what actually backwardness means. I have seen some villages there which can be approached only on foot and it takes almost 24 to 30 hrs to reach them from nearest highway. People used to get full meal for around 200 days in a year or even less. Rest od the time they survive on small plants, shrubs wild fruits , mango seeds or by the grace of God. The total cost of entire belongings of a family is only around Rs 100 or Rs. 150=00 . From above one can imagine the state of neglect they are in.
