MY NAME IS KHAN

Few months back when SRK was humiliated for longer duration on an airport of USA. He was accused of doing all this for promotion of his upcoming film ‘MY NAME IS KHAN’. That time people supported him as everyone was convinced that SRK doesn’t need such ‘cheap publicity’. Everyone knows that now days actors can go to any extent to promote their movies as the competition and rivalry among them is increasing.

But now the recent statement by SRK in New York in a press conference has definitely become a big blunder. His support to Pakistani players has straightaway raised eye brows of many Indians. The statement was not at all wrong as Cricket and Music are the only two mediums left by which Indians and Pakistanis are close to each others. And of course IPL without T20 Champions will definitely be incomplete.

Then why suddenly SRK has been targeted? The reason is very simple. When Shiv sena Suprimo Bal Thackrey criticized him in ‘Samna’ newspaper and wanted SRK to apologize for his statement, SRK refused straightaway. Things were pretty OK upto this point. But by repeatedly showing so much interest in supporting Pakistani players he has himself caught him in the trap of Politics and Politicians. Perhaps this is the ‘extreme’ level of ‘controversy’ he is seeking for his upcoming movie ‘MY NAME IS KHAN’. It’s a trend in bollywood now. The more the ‘controversy’ around movie the more ‘super hit’ it becomes.

As a ‘Marathi Manoos’, I understand that neither Shivsena nor SRK is right. Shivsena is using this issue for gaining back its lost vote bank of Marathi people and SRK is not ready to buckle down as he is getting lot of sympathy for all the fans and film fraternity which he will definitely encash after release of his movie MNIK. SRK with his witty intelligence was totally able to handle this ‘sensitive’ issue in diplomatic way and could have easily come out of controversies very early. But he is not doing so. What might be reason?? We all agree that as an Indian we all have freedom of speech but why do you use ‘freedom of speech’ exactly at a occasion when your film is about to release??

SRK should not take these issues lightly. Everyone knows SRK is right. But no one denies that ‘BAL THACKREY’ is the only leader in India who has guts to speak against ‘Pakistan’; and straightaway challenge them on face. Those who don’t know much about Thackeray should read about him, they will definitely come to know this man has never made any discrimination on religions. And no one is targeting SRK because he is ‘Muslim’. SRK should not apologize to anyone. But at the same time he should abstain from giving his expert opinions on sensitive issues as it hurts sentiments of people who have lost their beloved one in the ‘terrorist attacks’ carried out by terrorist with the help of Pakistan.

And rather than raising such issues Shivsena and MNS should start addressing those problems which are really concerned to common man, else it will be too late for them.
