Today we live in a complex world where in turbulence has become a part in our daily management. Every year, we come across new management jargon and theories that are applied in some of the organisations. These successful organisations proudly publishes their achievements and many others wish to blindly follow these practices to become successful. These provides an opportunity for few to become expert authors and publish self-help and management books. A close analysis on the number of books published year on year, concludes that there is a great requirement for management and self-help books then any others. Most often we observe people mostly in airports and in train travel reading. A close look at the title of the book, its most on the best seller. Many of the management consultant widely use example of these self-help books philosophy to convey the message. Many of the times we observe, after attending the these time of motivational and management training programs, these participants start really working hard and bring about changes in the organisation. Many a times these persons live for the company and forget about their families and society. Many of the times, I get a wild thought, as most of these books are sold worldwide with millions of copies, there may be no count on the pirated copies, why not there is any impact on the individuals and across the society.
Bottom-line:
I met an fellow travelers on the way to Jamshedpur, an avid reader of books. He shared his affection and interest on these self-help book and difficulty in implementing these concepts in home and office space. Then he gave away reading these management books and cultivated habit to read frictions which makes him happy. After listening to his story, I was convinced by the logic.
These self-help and management books only teach man to become machine to earn money by losing emotions.
