I always found Rahul Gandhi somewhat…well….sissy. But now after the surprise victory of Congress in the recent elections, I suddenly find him very sexy! Now why is that? Before these elections Rahul Gandhi was something of a joke in Indian politics whom nobody took seriously. Now he is the one most idolized. Is that the reason my perception of his sex appeal has changed?
Is it just me or do all women find successful men attractive, no matter how they look? Take Dhoni for example – a very average looking guy. Did any girl ever look at him till he was just a wicket-keeper? But the moment he started hitting those sixes, he was hot! Ditto for Shahrukh Khan or Amitabh Bachchan – some polls proclaim them to be the sexiest men in India. Excuse me?!!
Now lets look at the genuinely good looking guys – Arjun Rampal for example. I doubt any girl would have called him her favourite actor till OSO and Rock On came along. He was just another actor, a not-so-hot one, so what if he was extremely good looking. Does anybody even remember Milind Soman?
I find its the opposite for girls. Some of my guy friends are crazy about Isha Sherwani and Dia Mirza – both beautiful but flop actors. Everybody admires Kajol and Shabana Azmi as good actors but never heard a guy calling them hot! Mallika Sarabhai may be a woman of substance but men only want to talk about Ayesha Thapar.
The wives of most rich and successful men are stunning beauties – from Nita Ambani to Nina Pillai – chosen for their looks more than their IQs. The term ‘trophy wife’ just goes on to prove that looks matter to men more than brains.
So I guess a woman will go for an ugly man if he is successful but not for a good looking one if he is a failure. And it’s the opposite for men – they first go for looks and then the substance in a woman. Of course there are exceptions. But isn’t this the real truth?
