When I was on my tour for some field visit to one of the villages in upper Assam ......I had to spend some of my valuable time with the local tribal people taking interviews of the respondents related to some research work. I stayed in the village for sometime and had some interesting moments with the people of the village . I was cared a lot and need not think about my breakfast, lunch or dinner as it was managed by some of my friends in the village....

The morning breakfast would be some rice, mixed with home made curd and jaggery, good quality all free from harmful pesticides and bacteria.

One day it was 12' o clock noon I was very busy with my work .......my friend accompanied me to his house to have lunch .......family members welcomed me and offered me in a traditional tray betel nuts and leaves with little lime.....I chewed for some time it was wonderful......they asked me to wash my face and hands ...... I collected water from the well and did so....

It was time for lunch ...my friend sat beside me and we were offered with the finest quality of boiled rice.....wow the smell was marvellous. Next, curry was served to eat with rice........it was excellent ......the curry was prepared from the fresh green arbi leaves .... I asked more and more ...it was prepared, firstly boiling with lemon may be in a cooker, cooked properly and the entire ingredients mixed with cooked oil , garlic, green chillies, onion and little black pepper........in another pan and heated for some time......Oh! what a smell.....

They also offered some smoked fish mixed with some mustard oil, onion and salt.....It was a delicious diet I remember.
