Today as I boarded the bus towards my office, I found few faithful followers exibiting the, black ash mark on their foreheads. The ash mark on the forehead symbolizes the season of lent. The traditional purpose of Lent is the penitential preparation of the believer—through prayer, penance, repentance, almsgiving, and self-denial.
Daily morning & evening my mom sweeps & sobs the floor of our house to remove the dust. In office every morning, the house keeping persons clean the work place & cabin by removing the dust. We ensure the children’s are kept away from dust so that they their health won’t get effected. In the hospitals, the ICU is sterilized to keep away the gems and cleaned often to ensure dust is not accumulated. The cars are daily washed so that dust is free and car looks clean.
The ash in the forehead reminds - born through Dust shall go to Dust.
The ash mark will wipe away within few hours ! keeping the fore head onceagain clean -
When office, home, car, ICU etc are cleaned every day to keep the dust away ? What about the body & soul which is made of Dust ? We to believe that our body is the temple of God – So what about the dust, dirt accumulated in it ? Is there any method to clean & sterilize it ? Are we following the method to keep it clean and invite God to stay in it ? that Point to reflect & Introspect................
