Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai has been bustling with building activity ever since it was declared by the State Government as an IT corridor. And many IT companies offices are located there. It has become the hub of great players from all the States like Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh and of course from Tamil Nadu. The place will witness high rise building and at present highest proposed building is a 30 storeyed one. They are profuse with landscapes, auditorium, gyms, walkways and the amenities identified with Hi fi construction. As the place is not connected by drainage system treatment plants have been proposed by the builders.As the state has power problems power back ups have been provided. And the cost of a 2BHK or 3BHK comes around 35 to 40 lacks sans amenity fee like car parking, corpus fund,one year maintenance, club membership etc., But none appears to have given thought to waste management , i.e. waste emanating from these multistoreyed buildings.Perhaps one hopes that OMR, in due course, does not stink.
