Nominee right on the Bank account of Deceased

By: lawsenate Verified Member MouthShut Verified Member | Posted Nov 09, 2013 | General | 457 Views

If the deceased Bank account holder has named somebody as the nominee then Banks cannot ask for the succession certificate or any other legal document to release the payments. If the nominee produces the death certificate along with his identity the Bank has to release the payments.

If the deceased died intestate then the nominee gets all the money but if the deceased has left a will about the bank deposit then the other legal heirs also have the right over that Bank deposit.
