Everyday we come across various forms of music. Early morning it can be the distant chanting from the local temple, as the daylight breaks it changes into the call from vegetable vendors. Not I am saying that all of them do it in a sing-song voice, but most of them try at their best to make it more appealing,by adding a musical touch to it!
Most of the volvo buses have their own music systems in Bangalore. I don't know why, most of the drivers opt for loud music early in the morning. May be it helps them to stay awake while driving. But it causes much irritation to passengers who just want to enjoy a tranquil,long-route journey. This is another form of music while can make you almost mad! Every morning when I go to my institute,I just feel like crushing that music system into bits!
At your workplace, when you are trying hard to concentrate into something, somebody generously puts his mobile in speaker mode and plays loud music just next to your cubicle ---- How disturbing it could be? ufffffffff, I had several fights with my co-workers regarding this matter, now I carry my own set of ear-plugs. Some relief at least, from the "noise-bomb"!
Latest of all,I have encountered with a musical tap, which I have renamed as "Touch-me-not"! It's in my kitchen,so no way I can avoid it,I have to touch it regularly. Whenever I do that,it makes an annoying sound, and continues whining till u open and close it several times to adjust the sound. It has got a human nature also,if seeks attention! if you bang on the tap to close the sound, the whining increases and the whole wall starts vibrating. So,you have to be gentle,my dear! Do the closing and opening exercise again,it will be calmed down! oh,ridiculous!
These examples are nothing compared to two forms of music I encountered with, when I was staying at my native place. One was a budding singer in our locality, somebody told him he has a great talent! Only to increase the problems faced by us due to frequent power cuts and mosquito,he started practicing classical music early in the morning. First day when I came across it,I just jumped off the bed and ran downstairs to inquire who passed away in the locality!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mom assured me,nothing like that,Sanat the great musician is doing his "Saadhna"! Earplugs and pillows followed, to assure me a sound sleep.
Last, but not the least was Tuhin, the paranoid who lives next door to us. He was fond of music, one day he collected an empty tin-made biscuit box and started beating it and singing all sorts of devotional songs! Oh,whatta noise he made! Children from other flats started crying, dogs started barking , even the crows made careful circles around that house and contributed heartily to this great cacophony !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Somebody even informed the local councilor over the phone about the incident. Finally they arrived, tried to pacify him, when he didn't listen they snatched away his "musical instrument" from him. He showed anger and indifference, but finally settled down with the promise that he will be given a drum to beat!!!!!!!! Rest of the story is not known to me,as I came back before he got his drum!
So,how did you enjoy the story? Was it good? Next time when you play loud music on your own music system, think about others also. May be they don't like the loud noise at that time. May be somebody is not well in your apartment, who is getting disturbed by it. You can always enjoy, nobody is going to stop you from that. But,just consider about others, don't be a nuisance to them.Enjoy music, enjoy different types of it,but in a low volume.
