Was going to have a really long day,was wondering whether I will be able to make it or not.
Driving to Worli from Navi Mumbai is a pain in the mornings and then trying to get out at 1330 to reach Vashi by 1500 was another experience altogether,had to get back in time (1930) for the evening,being a Sat Nite,restaurants in Mumbai rock long into the night.
But there can be nothing as compared to the ROCKING time we had at Inorbit Mall today for the Mumbai MS Meet.
The Gathering at the security point was beginning of the fun to follow,photo session marked the the breaking of ice..and mind you it did not take long at all.
Yours truly,the hungry hog never declared that he would be part of it,& headed straight for the food court,but was cajoled by the suave Sajith to come down,& didnt mind that at all!
Barnali, Sajith, Atul, Dheeraj, Praveen, Akash were gathered and bas ek sardar ki kami thi..there was one from every corner of the country...and the entire group started frolicking and clicking,till the Cops came by.
Waited for a few more to join but by 1530 we moved in thru the maze of escalators and corridors, winding our way thru the myriad of splendidly colored chairs to park ourselves on a large table(actually we joined 6 tables)& became the centre of attraction of many eyeballs popping at us.
RS Dev joined without his Mouchie,carrying a rather large bag & I thought it was the mouchie to be kept safe there in, but nah!!
Surprise was a Call crash by our ever so graceful friend Shalu from Noida & she greeted all of us so well;then Madame Bindass(Neeru) called in to pass her regrets of not being able to join in but was so cute in her soft speech that we all forgave her immidiately.The Queen Bee(Tanna) bhi kaise peechhe chhutt jaati, called in from Satara,where she was physically, but dil se woh yahhiin thi,as always!!!
Another Surprise,a veteran,MS id laikar joined in & brought the biggest smile to the cute & ever so sporty Barnali..for having one more of the species join in and up the glam quotient further.Mommeeta(is the name spelt ryt?)made a gala entry but after she finished her ice cream aaraam se kone mein baith ke....
Flirtatious Babukris was at his best(green toffees too), Dheeraj(or was it AYUB KHAN) was quiet,Atul was game for music,Dev was a bit flustered at something, Barnali was charming,Akash-the man behind this show as much as Sajith's role to get it going and every one believed the MS id khulamunh suited me well(OK kuchh to likhna hai apne baare mein bhi)
Naturals Ice creams Tender Coconut was the order of the day and it is a swell combination must admit, deserves a review all by itself...lets not get into the technicals.
Steamed masala corn was sponsored by RSD..what a welcome change from the routine meetings where we go hog hog hog hog and hog some more and then part with kisses in the air that are louder than the burps that we hold under our breaths...the sweets Sajith picked up enroute from Lonavala was a decisive injunction to have the next one out of Mumbai and probably at Lonavala.
Some more toffees did the rounds and then started a small session of introducing ourselves & with what better way than how did we end up getting to join MOUTHSHUT.
A few serious & some hillarious anecdotes were shared and amongst peels of laffter the inevitable happened...Dostana relived...will leave it at this for the others to rake this up!!
A session of soulful songs from the Maestro and his guitar that he carried along,Atul livened up the evening starting with Hotel California, followed by RDB's Uhh Saala and a few others Oh and the bengali lass sportingly strained her vocals so amazingly and had a few of us swooning,actually!!
A silent thought was shared for the events of 26/11..
Gossip did the round & politics came in & went out in a silent whisper...Bitching did begin but then it is not what was there on the agenda.Photo sessions were a aplenty but then more casual than formal,I am sure the wonderful results from RSD and Barnalis Cam are not gonna dissappoint us. Sajith's Cam Battery died, Mine got left in the car, Praveen was sure there wud be many so he left his at home..etc etc!!
We exchanged dates of births and the earliest party is 8th March!
Cell fon contacts and missed calls all around to save them and the Muwaaahs to part only to meet again!!!! but not before the customary round of cutting chai MS ishtyle.. ssslllurrrp!!
