This trend was started by Infosys in Mlore when they sponsored a stretch of road from Lalbagh to Kottara to be concretised. Than it was slowly extended to Hampankata. This triggered of concrete road construction across the city. The town planning is excellent including the footpath is beautifully laid out for the citizens to walk along.Wherever one stretches his hand the privat buses stop. The need for catching autos became redunant. The private buses literally threw out govt buses who failed to understand the psychoclogy of the local commuter. Autos were soon out of business. This forced them to auto guys to seek a review of their business policy. They resorted to charging actual meter charges. This change was really refreshing and positive. Even Blore does not boast of actual meter being charged. The pre-auto is blessing in disguise for Mloreans when they land from outside
Tourist inflow is bound to increase in Mumbai once all the infrastructure is in place. Mlore is famous for NRI residents contributing massively for their transfer of funds. This helped in developing the banking sector in S. Kanara to a large extent. With good transportation and excellent sea food preparations, tourist will flock to Mlore.
