Every time we visit USA, my daughter spares one of her mobile phones to us. This time we found an advertisement about MagicJack. As there is no review of this product, in MS, I am writing as DP.
It is a simple USB connect devise, looks similar to a data-card. Once plugged, configured and registered, you can make unlimited calls to any number to USA and Canada for just $.19.95 per year! It has USB jack one side and normal Telephone (female jack) the other side. The device cost is US$.39.95 all inclusive.
The installation is very simple...just plug-in the device, it automatically loads the drivers and dial-pad. When you register you get a telephone number for you.Although it's designed for use with a single phone line (multiple lines require a magicJack for each) and our PC has to be turned on to use it, the magicJack is a fine way to cut your monthly telephone bill without making too many trade-offs.
So we bought one and started calling all our friends in USA and Canada(of course my daughter paid $19.95 as annual subscription)..no monthly call charges and unlimited!
The best part of this device is that once registered in USA, you can use in any country.
That is, when we return to India we can still call USA/Canada..free!! I wish I could write more about this as review rather than a DP.
MagicJack's call quality is amazing—almost too good to be true. I tried....so no doubt about it!

So if you have your Children either in USA or Canada, tell them to send MagicJack...phone you can use simple phone available in India!
