SevenHills hospital, from the discussions which have taken place, is trying to fool the public in varied ways. The greatest point of concern is that the hospital may try to usurp the land which belongs to the people of Mumbai, and in the name of building one of the biggest private hospitals in Mumbai, start a private medical college which will obviously be for the rich. It will be fairly easy to usurp the land just as the Hiranandani's have done in Powai and the Adarsh CHC in Colaba just to name a few. In both these instances the concerned officials looked the other way and the common citizens were not aware of the deceipt which was taking place. This can very easily happen with sevenhills because they have very deep pockets and very strong political connections. Citizens should wake uo to the injustice and make sure that the hospital honours its committments to the BMC and to the public. Citizens should be vigilant and form NGO's to prevent the misuse of public land.We are all aware how dire is the need for affordable medical facilities in this area.
Having a Medical College, is a bane because medical students will come from the very rich strata of society. The poor patients will be used as guinea pigs for these undeserving students. And the poor patients will be admitted more as study material rather than for adequate and optimal medical care. and these poor patients will be our brothers and sisters. Do we want our own relatives to be subjected to such humiliation?
The hospital management is close to the Congress but in politics, no party can be trusted. Therefore it is our responsibility to prevent the abuse of our land and our people.
