JUST AS A FISH CANNOT BECOME A BIRD (A POEM)
Just as a fish cannot become a bird
In its lifetime by converting fins to wings,
A man cannot become someone else
By wishful thinking and dreaming!
Seldom people ever change totally
Even if they appear to have re-formed.
A man may change his environment,
Life style, station and circumstances –
And yet at will cannot transmogrify
As he wishes to in a long lifespan,
Which is why those that look changed
Remain in their core the same old selves!
A change has to be in unity and continuity
To be one of significance and substance.
That happens when the moon rains frogs!
No wonder then we have only a few sages!
