One of our indians was travelling in on a lower berth in a train in Japan. The opposite berth was completely vacant. So, as per the indian habit, our indian stretched his legs onto that berth. Immediately one japanese traveller kept one newspaper under the legs of our indian so that the berth is not soiled. This I heard many years back and was very fascinated to hear. Now, a few years back, I was travelling in 2-tier A/c compartment from Bhopal to Vijayawada. In one of the stations in MP, a political light weight boarded the train with one or two 'chemchas'(or disciples) who were carrying some baskets full of santhras and entered our section of compartment and occupied the berth allotted to him (may be on a free pass) opposite my berth. The politician clad in bright white dress started eating santhras soon and started spitting the wastage on the floor of the compartment right in between us and proudly asked one of his henchmen: "chalega?". The henchman immediately replied : "chalega, chalega!". WHEN WILL WE LEARN FROM JAPAN?
