Few minutes ago, South Africa has beaten New Zealand by 3 runs to win the 3rd T-20 between them and with that they sealed the series 2 - 1 in their favour. The third match was a nail biting thriller which New Zealand could have won in the 19th over but went on to loose it by 3 runs.
Requiring 166 runs to win, New Zealand were well placed at 156 runs for the loss of 4 wickets and with just 10 runs required of the final 2 overs victory seemed imminent but South Africa held their nerves and conceded only 3 runs in the 19th over and took a wicket of Jessie Rider.
7 runs required of the last 6 balls was also achievable but New Zealand lost 2 wickets in the 5 balls of the last over and made only 1 run, leaving the equation to six required of the last ball. The bowler bowled a no ball and single run was taken which brought the chances of win very close as 4 runs were required of the last ball and moreover it was a free hit. Bowler De Lange, who gave 33 runs in his first 3 overs but came back strongly when required and bowled a ferocious delivery that pitched outside the off stump, the batsman swung the bat with full power but could not connect to the ball.
South Africa held their nerves and won the nail biting thriller. What a game this was.
