Was a time when there used to be a flood of B'day greetings by post. This was followed after a few years by more telephone calls and less of cards. Then came the time when these greetings came from friends and relatives through e-mail (personalised) Then came automatically generated greetings on appointed day from friends.
And now .... there are more greetings from advertisers, banks and other commercial firms than my good ole friends most of whom seem to have forgotten a measly birthday anyway!
