~SPECIAL NEW YEAR POST!~

Hello, this is XY and you are watching the Bollywood Talk Show. Today, we have a die-hard movie buff as our guest. He’s just 18 and is writing on MouthShut.com, one of India’s most popular websites since around 4 years. Please welcome, Fenil Seta!!

Fenil: Hello and thank you so much for inviting me. I can’t believe I am a guest on a show where only celebs are called!

XY: He he…actually what happened is no celeb was available this week. Some of them were shooting; others were busy with their New Year bashes. Few of them preferred to appear in Farhan Akhtar’s show and not here. So this week we decided to call you since you are always available and have all the free time in the world!!

Fenil (little embarrassed): Oh is it? Well…ahem…cool! (At loss of words)

XY: So let’s begin our chat. From Bollywood point of view how was the year 2008 according to you?

Fenil: It was good, but not quite great! A lot of films, especially the ones with most expectations, turned out to be disappointing and shoody. This happens almost every year but in 2008, the number of disappointing films was more. Recession also affected the industry. Huge money was invested on stupid scripts, which led to huge losses, not only for the makers, but for audiences too who put their hard-earned money on such films! But at the same time, we got some excellent films having unique and interesting scripts like Race, ‘Rock On!!’, ‘A Wednesday!’, Mumbai Meri Jaan etc. So overall, 2008 was good, but could have been better!

XY: Which according to you was the most disappointing film of 2008?

Fenil: They were quite a few films, but the most disappointing was Singh Is Kinng! I have loved almost all of Akshay’s comic flicks. But SIK was totally pathetic. Didn’t expect such a trash from Vipul Shah!

XY: And the best film?

Fenil: That’s difficult to choose. But I would go with ‘A Wednesday!’. It created a deep impact on me. The people also loved the film a lot!

XY: A lot of wonderful films are to release in 2009…

Fenil: Oh yaa. Many interesting films are lined up for release, starting with Chandni Chowk To China!

XY: Which is your highly awaited film?

Fenil: That’s again difficult to choose because I am waiting for many films. But the film which has really made me curious is Rahul Dholakia’s Lamha, starring Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu in leading roles. It promises to show Kashmir and its problems like never before. So for Lamha for me, is surely, a highly awaited film! Another awaited film is Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kambakth Ishq, starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Beyonce Knowles and Sylvester Stallone. It seems to be a grand entertainer.

XY: Any film which you feel will have a bad fate at the BO?

Fenil: Yeah, there are 2 films. The first one is Blue, starring Akki, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and Lara Dutta. The film has been in the news for the dangerous stunt sequences done by the actors in the film. However, its budget is 100 crore and it seems like an ‘all style no substance’ kind of film! The other film is Anil Sharma’s Veer, starring Salman as a warrior. Salman, in my opinion, looks horrible in the film! And again, crores of rupees are spent on it which would be difficult for the producer to recover.

XY: Ha ha…let’s see. Talking about your reviews, you seem to like all movies!

Fenil (laughs): Yeah many have told me and I disagree completely. I have thrashed many films, although the number of films I have given a thumbs up are more! You can check my reviews on Singh Is Kinng, Drona, De Taali, No Smoking, etc…

XY: Ok agreed. But you also enjoyed a dud like Love Story 2050. You gave it 4 stars!

Fenil: Yeah I liked it. The film scored on many points in my opinion. The future was well-shown, though it could have been better. I could easily see that film again! And I can show you many people who loved the film. Anyways, just because everyone calls it a dud, it doesn’t mean that I should follow the same too, even though I liked the film.

XY: Hmm…pasand apni apni.

Fenil: Exactly! And what else?

XY (begans to flip pages of a book, searching for questions to be asked): Ahhh….yeah. Are you single?

Fenil: Wha..?

XY: Oops. Sorry! Wrong question…My mistake. Actually I am used to asking this question to almost all celebs in the end.

Fenil: Ha ha. I can understand. No problem

XY: So…thank you Fenil for being with us on the show. Goodbye and wishing you a great year ahead!
