So finally the curtains have come down on this IPLseason with a glittering closing ceremonyfeaturing A R Rahman, Bipasha Basu among others. And Chennai managed to put up a good performance to beat Mumbai in the final.. But the fate of the father of the IPL, Lalit Modiis already known - today is curtains for him!

The BCCI bosses were determined to get rid of Modi, thanks to the pressure from the Govt of India which wanted to take revengeagainst Modi. But today Modi sprang a surprise by deciding to not only attend tomorrow's IPL Governing council meet but also to chair the meet.

This stunned his detractors in the BCCI who have now decided to suspend himfrom the BCCI. The suspension order will be served on him immediately after the match is over. The BCCI bosses thus will prevent him from attending the meeting tomorrow where a kangaroo court will take place to remove Modi.

Now Modi is no saint,he is a sleazy character, but one thing is clear he has done a tremendous job in IPL and run it single-handledly. There are many allegations of his misdoings, but no hard proof. The IT authorities have been going hammer and tongs for more than a week, but yet there is no concrete proof till today, other than vague leaks to the press. When such is the situation, how can Modi be removed without any evidence? It is shocking that the BCCI wants to prevent him from attending the meeting - forget allowing a defence counsel, it is like not even allowing an accused in a court! The basic tenets of law allow for an accused to make his defence, but here Modi is being thrown out without even giving him a chance to present his case.

If Modi is guilty, so is the governing council, after all Modi is not the supremo of IPL, he is the head of the Governing council. All members of the governing council are equally responsible for all the wrong doings. It is just like a Board of Directors, if the Chairman is guilty, so is the Board, because either they slept or were also part of the looting! Lets take a look at the role of the denizens who oppose Modi:

1) Shashank Manohar: this is the man who headed the Vidarbha association and how deliberately produced a green topso that Australia could beat India and win the test series - only to spite Dalmia.

2) N Srinivasan - ius the sleaziest of the lot. Secretary of the board, he also took up a franchise and got the Board to approve his act later. If the secretary of the board could officially own a franchise, then why can't Modi have shares in franchises? He is also the treasurerof the board and so responsible for finances. Remember how the auditors were as culpable as Ramalinga Raju in the Satyam case!

3) Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri - were the cricketers on the board, yet they accepted employment from Modi as commentatorseach being paid more than 2 crores for their job. It is like Independent directors on a board taking a job in the CEO's office! And Gavaskar wants to move the resolution against Modi, what an irony!

4) Arun Jaitley : of the party with a difference, who had an image of an intellectual was exposed by Modi when it was shown that he supported Shashank in opposing the franchise details from being disclosed. Being the leader of the opposition,he asks lots of questions to the Govt. but here he didnt ask any questions.

So it is clear, this case proves the old adage that those who live in glasshouses should not throw stones at other!

Remember what Christ told, let he who has not sinned, cast the first stone! Is there such a person in the Governing council?

Monday will see the removal of Modi and he will move the courts and also start exposing his enemies. Lots of dirty linen will be washed in the next few days.

Atleast the final was as exciting as the off-field scandals!
