I recently signed a petition on change.org which was a heart-wrenching plea by one of our disabled fellow humans. She was molested and manhandled by porters at a Railway Station. And she cries out to the government for better infrastructure for the disabled and strong measures against such dastardly deeds.
I strongly oppose such treatment given to a fellow human, whether men or women, whether disabled or not. And I despise the government and legal system for allowing such.
Despite all the hype that the government promotes about allocating hundreds of crores for causes like Nirbhaya and others, such incidents of molestation that occur almost on a daily basis remain unchecked and unresolved. The perpetrators remain unpunished.
So where has all that allocated money gone? Who is accountable for it? This is despicable.
Getting your photographs taken with a mop in hand and encouraging people to use toilets is not good enough, unless you focus on the real problems faced by people and take the necessary measures to resolve them.
But then, I think i'm just talking to myself. I don't think those in power are listening. They are too busy screwing the common people for their own gains.
