Never in my college life had I expected things to happen in this way… entering in the third professional of MBBS…I am exploring new people, new arenas and new places in altogether new fashion… outings have always amused me…and so despite of not being well…I went out with my batch mates on a “Dam”ned excursion….
I and my friends always tend to do something unusual…like what we did this time…scheduled an outing to a dam nearby (read that 40 kms from wardha) in the scorching temperatures…and to add to it…late afternoon…
And so, Saturday, March 6th…16 rookies…armed with 8 bikes and some foodstuff…went to Mahakali Dam…I always read its board on the road but thought it to be some holy place…but it turned out to be a cooool holy place…12 guys and 4 ‘brave’ gals (now that’s what we are being called for showing guts to go out with thrice the number of boys) left sewagram at 3 in noon though departure was decided 2 hours before…the guys took all the extra time and not the gals (ironically)…but doesn’t matter…as long as the outcome is good…the ride almost seemed like “ROADIES” (at least to me) with all the bikes zooming on the roads…reached the temple within an hour…took the blessings of the goddess and moved to the actual dam…
From the road it seemed so magnanimous…n yes indeed…it was huge…I couldn’t take my eyes off the beauty of that place…greenery all around the water of the dam…and yes…the clear waters of the dam…seemed to be just the perfect place to gaze at the sunset…we first took a walk over the dam…and then…naughtiness in us propped up…and we followed an unconventional path to the waters…climbing down the wall of the dam and going down the stones…that seemed easier to us…plus having fun to us means letting our mischievous side come up coz that’s not possible for us in our college…photography…as I mentioned in my last write up…forms a vital part of any thing we do, whether it’s our college or out…as soon as someone gives a call for a photo…all the people just try getting accommodated in the picture frame…n then…CLICK…posing in all possible ways and in all attainable permutations and combinations…we click…making our photo albums bulkier… and then the best ones get the privilege of being into our facebook gallery….I guess that’s coz of advanced technology that we are exploiting our cell phones in taking the snaps…
As the day advanced, we sought for a place to rest…a small hut kind of thing…and opened rucksacks to put an end to the demands of our tummies…truly as I mentioned earlier about the evenings…they are indeed breath-taking…for couples…it will be definitely a treat…the birds flying in the open skies gave us a real taste of nature…undoubtedly the creations of the God are worthwhile…
Being with companions as cool as my batch mates made the day unforgettable in my life…we chattered a lot…my favorite part being the song…I never knew that guys can be so fun…precisely, I am exploring new people…may be I can make “dil to bachcha hai” and “aadat” the theme songs of the voyage…
As the skies were getting darker…we had to return…especially me…my dad being on his way to sewagram…so at the end…while turning back…we again posed…this time I guess all might have had the “DHOOM” feeling…and we zoomed back…
This trip was first in many aspects…first visit to the place…first trip with friends…first talk with many of them…and last but not the least…first feeling of college life…last visit was for a cause…but this one was genuinely fun oriented…
An earnest thanks to all the people who accompanied me…and made it the best of my college days…may be we get along really well on next expedition…
