The new year started off quite well for bollywood, and the year 2009 promises to give us a lot of exciting movies to watch out for!!
Firstly, this january(January 16, 2009, we have Chandni chowk to chinacoming up! Promises to be a good movie, with a few stunts performed on the great wall of china, this film claims to be the first one to do so!
Akki bhai, promises to start the new year with the first hit of the year, lets watch out for that! This film is directed by Nikhil Advani and starrs Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone( a double role), Mithun Chakraborty, Chia Hui Liu & Ranvir Shorey!
Billu Barber, another very interesting flick coming up on 13 Feb, 2009(tentative), is a story of a barber & and the changes he undergoes when a movie unit arrives at his village.
With Irffan Khan, Lara Dutta, shahrukh, Rajpal Yadav & others, the cast sure makes us wanna check it out.. Hope this new venture from Shahrukh( as producer) comes out well
Nagesh kukunoor's next is starring Akshay Kumar, and is titled "8 x 10"! Interestingly, akki has psychic abilities in this film, like superpowers! Now that's interesting! And with Akshay Kumar, its sure to have a lot of those extraordinary stunts for us to drool over!
Let's hope we see another hit from Akki!
"Delhi 6" is a supposedly an autobiographical portrayal of Om Prakash Mehra's childhood days in Delhi and starrs Abhishek Bachchan & Sonam Kapoor! The beautiful Sonam, is back with a bang & hope she gets a chance to show her talent, after the dreaded Saawariya :)
The akshay kareena starrer, Kambakht Ishqis also due this year, with a surprise addition of bond girl Denise Richards in the starcast. Sajid Nadiadwala's new venture is sure going to rock with an appearance by Sylvester Stallone too! Akshay is supposedly playing a hollywood stuntman in this flick!
Now a look at the hollywood side of cinema, a few really good movies are scheduled this year.
Ice Age 3- Dawn of the dinosaurs, directed by Oscar-nominated Carlos Saldanha, will be releasing on 1 July, 2009(tentative) and is a sure going to be a instant sweetheart of many! I watched a trailer, and was smitten by it all over :)
Other movies to look out for would be "Jurassic Park 4" & "Harry potter & the half blood prince", & "He is not that into you" !
The much Awaited, "Terminator Salvation" starring Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, is scheduled for a release on 22nd May, 2009!
However, the next installment of the Ironman series, IronMan 2, has been pushed to april 2010!
Lets hope this new year brings out a lot of exciting & engaging movies for us to enjoy! Take care!!
