Change…
A word which
is revolutionary in itself! Some 80
years back, or so, a Malayalam poet called 'Kumaran Aasan' wrote: "Change
the system, before the system changes you". He was talking about the bad practices the
society and religion were following that time.
"Who
moved my cheese" was an instant hit for a simple reason because it
called for change.
'Obama'shook
the democratic voting pattern with the same word, 'Change'.
Even though
the word is fancy, in my opinion we should 'Change' what need to be changed. Change what is old….what is useless…..what
is inefficient. Change one who is not
loyal, trustable or lovable. If we are
going to change anything and everything there is no end. So make sure we don't change which is our
strength. We don't change our loved
ones.
We need to
identify that we need change on such and such item, person, idea, belief, places,
facility…whatever. What are your
reasons? Let that be clear. And the change should be for better. Think
before plan a change and fix what need to be changed and how. If you are planning a job change, don't jump
out without considering options because a reversal may be impossible and even
if it is possible it may not be comfortable.
Many a time
it is our bond to our existing patterns, friends, relatives, surrounding that
prevents from a change. A boat
which rests on the shore cannot float. The
boat can only go to places once it is pushed to the water.
Today I
posted another brain storming question on gravity. I have to admit that the response was quite impressive
and I have to thank all those who gave out very creative ideas across. The idea was to make a sense of how difficult
it will be to adopt ourselves to changes.
Our body, our mind, everything is designed to live in typical
conditions. The nature has its own
ways for survival and human beings are no exception. To adopt the new situation and dangers we
need to move out of our comfort zones.
Difficult it is. Very difficult!
When I first
left home, I felt very bad but I don't felt sad because I had my purpose
with me which helped me to adjust to the new situation and life
afterwards. I was convinced that I need to move out. I was determined to go out and was searching
for ways to do so. Because of these when
the time has come for a change it was not that painful. If we don't prepare ourselves well for a
change we can be in danger.
When winter
comes, you see yourself how you change your life style…dress pattern, food
habit etc. This is true for any
change. We have to equip ourselves to
adjust to the changing situations.
We need to
observe the nature for its changes to live in harmony and without danger. We need to observe the life and situations to
identify and analyse to see if it demands a change.
Don't
change anything which is not required to change. Don't keep anything which needs to be
changed. The burden of decision lies on
you.
What is your experience?
