I sat on the ghat quietly for sometime. More then the river or atmosphere what the thing fascinating me was the fact that thousands of generations has passed but the river is flowing eternally, unaffected and with glory. Sometime later I hired a boat along with some other person most of them were college students for the other side of river. As boat came into mid of water a range of Siberian bird’s passes over us almost touching our head. It was a very pleasant experience. When we came on the other side of river, the boatman asked to leave us the boat few meters before the sand. We rolled our trousers up and walked into the water. Water was knee high and very cold and refreshing. The day has fully come out I walked on sand barefoot. As far as eyes see there was sand and water. A foreigner was making a painting and next to him a girl was deep meditating. I asked that person whether I could take his photograph. He nodded in Yes. He told me that he is an Austrian and visited India for some spiritual experiences.
I Came back on Dashamegh Ghat again .I met a boy who was studying at BHU.We hired a rickshaw for sankatmochan temple.Rikshaw moved slowly in the streets .Streets were not purely streets: they were Gullies . Gullies are very small but full of peoples. There was signature of very old civilization on every thing on every place where I visited in Banaras. We visited some more temples .In evening I came back to Hotel and rested some time. At night I visited again at Ghats .Aarti was about to begin. I sat in a boat. A newly wed couple and an old woman were also on the same boat. Ganga or Banaras at night looks very fascinating outstanding. The couple sat next to me was Bengalis. They were not carrying there camera .I understood their uncomfortability and offered my camera to take as many photos as they can. I promised that I will send those photos at their address in Delhi. We came near a ghat which is known as Harishchandra ghat and popular for funerals. We did not stay there and came to See Aarti.
At night I ate in same kesari Restaurant again. This time the waiter recognized me and greeted with smile. Food again was delicious. I planned for next day to visit Sarnath. Sarnath is approx. 12 km far from Banaras. The best way to go there is by taking a Auto from a chowk (I forgot the name of chowk). Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon. On both side of the road to Sarnath there were tall trees. When you reach Sarnath you find yourself in different world. A world of meditation, a world of history and a world of civilization forgotten and remembered. On the gate of temple I met few people looking like the guides. One of them offered him in rupees 10 (I wondered so small money for a guide). He took me to the temple, the tree and a museum where there was as tall laying statue of Lord Buddha. The man took me to a showroom of pure silk and showed me how silk was weaven. Then only I realized that man was the sales man of that showroom who first assist as a guide and then took people to showroom for buying silk sarees. The person may ne salaried or on commission don’t know and I did not asked either. Though I paid him a not of rs 20 and said goodbye.
After seeing the temples I saw museum. It was the world famous museum where Ashok Chakra and famous symbol of four Lions were kept. At around afternoon I came back again to Hotel, checked out and boarded to the train to Delhi.
