Italian Davide Appollonio (Sky) gained with the sprint the first stage of the Turn of the Poitou-Charentes, disputed Tuesday over 184,2 km between Surgères (Charente-Maritime) and Cognac (Charente). The 22 year old runner, which preceded on the line the French Sebastien Chavanel (Europcar) and Arnaud Démare (FDJ), profited from the large work of its team. Not only in the final one to ideally launch the sprint, but also earlier to take again the escaped last with 10 kilometers of the term.
